We will be staying for 9 nights in the 4-star Sol Principe Hotel in Torremolinos. This hotel is located right on the beachfront, with direct access to the magnificent Playamar Beach. A fabulous hotel very close to the centre of Torremolinos. It has stylish and comfortable accommodation and extensive facilities in a superb location. This tour really gives you a true taste of the real Spain. Andalucia has a lot more to offer than just fabulous beaches. On this tour you can have the best of both worlds. Day 1 We depart Dublin on our direct scheduled flight to Malaga, Spain. On arrival we are met by our Tour Leader and our local tour guide, then you will be transferred by coach to the 4-star Sol Principe Hotel in Torremolinos where we are based for 9 nights. Dinner tonight and every night is in the Hotel. Day 2 Enjoy a day of rest and relaxation in Torremolinos. Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and an unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities, and nightlife. There is also a superb selection of shops with very reasonable prices. Day 3 After breakfast we depart on an excursion to Nerja. This historical seaside town is overlooked by dramatic mountains. It has several beaches set in charming coves between cliffs and has one of the best climates in Europe. The old quarter of the town is virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums. Our afternoon stop is in Malaga. Our local tour guide will take us on a short walking tour of the old part of the city with its impressive Cathedral and Moorish fortress. Day 4 Today we depart on an excursion to Gibraltar, located on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Gibraltar is famous worldwide for its dramatic Rock. It overlooks the Straits of Gibraltar and is linked to Spain by a narrow isthmus. Gibraltar is imposing but small. It measures less than six square kilometres in total. There is also a colony of the famous apes, the only ones in Europe to run free in a semi-wild state. Look forward to some excellent photo opportunities and indulge in some great duty-free shopping. You will need to bring your passport with you to enter Gibraltar. Day 5 Another free day to enjoy the resort of Torremolinos. Go shopping on the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel which is at the heart of the town. This smartly paved street is lined with boutiques and shops with a great variety of goods on offer at very reasonable prices. Day 6 After breakfast we depart on an excursion to Ronda. Our route through the Sierra Bermeja Mountain range is breathtaking. Ronda is one of the oldest cities of Spain. Its origin, according to archaeological findings in the old city belongs to the Neolithic age. Ronda is probably best known for its impressive 18th century bridge, which spans a 100m deep gorge and divides the old and new part of the town. Ronda is also home to the world’s oldest bullring which dates to 1785. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon giving us plenty of time to enjoy this fabulous city. Day 7 Enjoy another free day in Torremolinos. Day 8 Today we travel to the city of Granada, which is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at the confluences of the Darro and Genil rivers. Its unique history has bestowed it with an artistic grandeur embracing Moorish Palaces and Christian Renaissance treasures. As the last Moorish capital on the Iberian Peninsula, it also holds great symbolic value. Granada has its usual quotient of churches, museums etc. typical for a southern European city. Our local tour guide will lead us on a walking tour of the old city. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon.
